Easy Visualization

Imagine that you are standing on a beautiful forest path.

In your mind’s eye, you can see that this path is clear except for the dappled sunlight and the occasional leaf dancing to the rhythm of the wind.

This path is free of obstacles, and that it stretches all the way to the horizon and beyond.

Be on the path and say to yourself quietly, “I know that Power and the Presence of Spirit goes before me. It has made my way clear and It blesses all who come near me.”

Do this visualization often.

Have a beautiful, obstacle free, and blessed afternoon ;-)

Learn the Art of Guided Meditation, Visualization, and Self Healing

chakra2.jpg For over 15 years I’ve been practicing and teaching guided meditation, visualization, and self healing but I’ve never held a class on how others can do it for themselves and others until I had a vision about doing so last month. 

I was sitting in silence contemplating a level II meditation class for my current students when I saw myself sitting in a circle facilitating a workshop where each person gave a guided meditation.  The vision came and went in a flash but it communicated volumes to my heart. 

It has always been my practice to empower everyone I meet and work with, with the knowledge that they are the knowers in thier own lives.  Now I have the opportunity to take this practice to the next level.  Yay!

Meditation Level II Workshop This Saturday, May 23rd

This Saturday from 11:30 am-1:30 am I will be having a meditation workshop at Beach Cities Health District.  Although it is a level II workshop, it is open to everyone.  Our focus this month will be creating a positive mental atmosphere, opening ourselves to compassion, and of course deep relaxation.  We will also be doing our tea ceremony which is always a big hit.  I am looking forward to seeing you this Saturday!

The Healing Power of Compassion

circulatorysystem.gifIn preparation for this evening’s class on the heart center, it occured to me how the energy of compassion, forgiveness, empathy and kindness nourishes the entire body and mind.

The heart center correlates to our body’s circulatory system.  The circulatory system feeds, oxygenates and removes waste from the entire body.  Looking at the picture of our circulatory system, I imagined how the energy of compassion travels the same route, bathing our bodies in light and ease while at the same time removing negativity.  I also imagined how feelings of anger, resentment, and even hatred are destructive to the body, since this negative energy travels along the same route. 

It occurs to me how vital compassion, empathy and forgiveness are to our total health and wellbeing.  This week, please practice along with me the Loving Kindness Meditation.  Let’s bring health and healing to ourselves and our world.

Assume a meditative posture and repeat silently to yourself
1. “May I be safe, May I be happy, May I be healthy, May I live with ease.”

2.While visualizing someone whom you feel grateful towards, such as a mentor, a friend, or a loved one, say silently to yourself:
“May you be safe, May you be happy, May you be healthy, May you live with ease.”

3.While visualizing someone whom you are indifferent towards, such as a grocery store clerk, repeat statement number 2.

4.While visualize someone with whom you are having a difficult relationship with, repeat the statement number 2.

Because our feelings about people can be complicated, this meditation can be very challenging. However, with practice it can be transformative.

New Year Clearing Ceremony
Saturday January 3rd from 1:00 to 3:00 PM

Join me for this fun yet powerful way to bring in the new year.  First we’re going to make list of all the burdens (relationships included) and all of the thoughts that no are longer serving us then we’re going to burn and release them!  Then we’ll turn our attention to aligning with our life’s path, our talents, and our desires. 

Together we’re going to create clear intentions, visualize a clear path for the New Year, and welcome 2009 burden free!

Good Vibrations

How does the material world exist if the fundamental building blocks of matter have no mass?  And what does this have to do with meditation, visualization, and your wellbeing? 

Your body and everything else in the universe may look solid; but all matter is made up of particles, particles that have no mass.  Science has yet to quantify exactly what this is all about, but the mystic and the metaphysician will tell you that the fundamental building blocks of life is Source energy…moving, oscillating, vibrating, living energy. You are Source energy in a beautiful and unique form. 

You direct this energy with your thinking and with your feeling.  That is, you have a free will to do whatever you want with this energy.  If, for example, you direct your thoughts towards something that makes you feel sad, disappointed, or resentful, the vibratory nature of your being slows down and you feel drained, tired, or depressed.  Why?  Because your sense of wellbeing is directly related to the quality your thinking, and your thoughts direct the vibration and flow of your energy.
