Your Thoughts: Don’t Hesitate to Erase
“When bad thoughts enter your mind, let them come through. Don’t resist them. Let them talk. Let them have the floor to speak .Then, when they’re done talking, talk back to those thoughts and correct them. Let them know that they have no power. They hold no weight. And most importantly–They’re not real.â€

Our thoughts create our reality. This is no secret. However, have you ever thought or imagined an event so crazy, that if it happened instantly, you would be in deep trouble? I know I have. In fact, I don’t know of anyone who hasn’t. Have you ever thought about why those thoughts almost never happen instantaneously? I have. And what I’ve come up with may be just as crazy as the thoughts themselves.
The best way to explain my theory is this:Â Your thoughts are like those school erasable markers, and your reality is like the dry erase board that you write on with those markers.
Now, imagine that dry erase board taking the place of your reality, and the markers being the instrument (in this case, your mind) that writes your every thought on the dry erase board. What happens is that your mind writes all of those thoughts on the dry erase board with those erasable markers, and then those thoughts sit on the dry erase board until someone takes an eraser and wipes them clean. It’s a good thing that our teacher (the Universe) lets us write only with erasable markers.
Now here is the rub. Even though the marks on the board are erasable, as you’ve probably seen on many dry erase boards in junior high, the boards that have the words left on them too long still have a hint of the letter “H†where your 7th grade teacher wrote “My name is Mrs. Hawkins.†My deepest apologies for taking you back there folks!
Everything you are seeing now in your reality is from your thoughts. Thoughts that were left on the dry erase board too long-either consciously or unconsciously. The part of your reality that you are satisfied with you purposely left sitting on the board. The things in your life you regret or that you label “bad,†are experiences that no longer serve your purpose, as in, they no longer represent who you are anymore. These thoughts you have either yet to erase or you have not even made the attempt to erase them, thus you have them in your reality. However, this doesn’t mean that you still cannot erase these thoughts. There’s still time. It just means it’ll take more than just a few swipes to clear them completely.
Then you have those thoughts that pop in-and-out of your mind (and your reality) from time to time and it seems as though you just can’t shake them. These may be a set of events or situations that you were unconscious of at the time you wrote them on the board. Unfortunately after they set for a bit, you realized that you either misspelled a few words or just didn’t like the words period. Then when you did try to erase them, because they were left on the board too long, you’re still seeing the residue from the writing in your NOW reality. Make sense?
From my own experience, I think it’s safe to say; sometimes old (or maybe new) unwelcome thoughts start swimming around in our minds from time to time; some of them which you may feel guilty about, some, which bring back good memories, but are no longer Who You Are and some that we are just down right confused about. My advice is to allow those thoughts to come through. Taking what you need and leaving the rest-as my Aunt Sha would say-is the best approach here. In any event, always keep an eraser handy, or we might just hear of the first person in the world spotted sitting in his hot tub sipping on a pina colada with Marylyn Monroe . Â
